The Redwood Acres Raceway has been forced to postpone the next scheduled race night of the summer because of CALFIRE’s use of the fairgrounds.

The event, which was scheduled for July 27, was supposed to include the Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series.

This is the second time in three years that local fires have forced Redwood Acres Raceway officials to postpone a race date featuring the tour series.

Raceway and series officials, however, have been able to reschedule the event for Aug 31.

A strong field of cars was expected at the local raceway on July 27, including the Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series, the Spears Modified Series and the Nor Cal Legend Series.

CALFIRE’s use of the fairgrounds has canceled all scheduled events for at least the next two weeks, including Saturday’s scheduled Redwood Outlaw Karts race day.

The next race night at Redwood Acres Raceway is scheduled for August 10.

O’Reilly Auto Parts will be providing a full slate of action featuring late models, the Upstate Modifieds, Upstate Bombers, NorCal Legends and mini stocks.

The next Redwood Outlaw Karts race day is now scheduled for Aug. 3.
