The Humboldt Crabs suffered a disappointing loss at the Lincoln Potters on Wednesday night as they dropped to 0-2 in the Pacific Empire League.
The Crabs led by a run going into the bottom of the ninth, but the Potters tied the game on a wild pitch and would go on to win 5-4 in 11 innings.
The loss was the second straight for the Crabs, who dropped to 10-4 overall.
The Potters improved to 2-0 in the Pacific Empire League and 17-2 on the season.
The Crabs overturned an early two-run deficit with all four of their runs coming in the top of the fifth inning.
Seven different Crabs players combined for eight hits, led by Billy Ham, who continued his impressive summer with the team and finished 2-for-4 with a walk.
Jett Ruby added a double while former Eureka Logger Keenan Morris finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.
Logan Saloman got the start on the mound and threw five innings.
The Arizona native allowed five hits and two walks and struck out seven.
Caleb Nieman took the loss in relief.
The loss means the Crabs will lose a series for the first time this summer, but they will try to close out the three-game stand with a win on Thursday night.
As always, Thursday’s game will be streamed live on the club’s YouTube page and broadcast live on local ESPN affiliate KATA 1340 AM and 107.3 FM.
First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
