The McKinleyville boys and girls basketball teams closed out their pre-Christmas schedule with impressive road wins on Friday night.

The Mack boys won 64-55 at Kelseyville, while the girls won 51-35 at Ukiah.

Tatum Fisher led the Mack girls with 21 points and she helped set the tone early with eight points in the first quarter, including a pair of 3-pointers.

Gabby Watson also had a good game on the offensive end and finished with 15 points, including 12 in the second half.

Bella Turner added seven points as the Panthers improved to 6-5 on the season.

The McKinleyville boys, meanwhile, overcame a slow start after the drive down to Lake County, rallying from a first-half 32-16 deficit on the way to their ninth win of the season.

Bode Douglass led a balanced offense with 14 points, while Flynn Creighton added 13 points and Jordan Brown finished with 12 points.

“After making some adjustments we were able to change the momentum in our direction,” head coach Chris Davis said. “This really felt like our best team win as our guys came together to overcome the early deficit.”

Brown continued his strong start to the season and helped set the tone for his team on both sides of the ball, while teammate Kaden Waugh gave the Panthers a spark off the bench, taking a pair of charges to keep the momentum going in their favor.

Next up, the Mack boys play at the Enterprise tournament, which tips off on Dec. 28.

McKinleyville, which is now 9-4, opens against University Prep.
