The Arcata Tigers completed a sweep of the H-DNL girls tennis championships by taking all three doubles titles at Fortuna on Friday.

One week after winning all six singles titles, the Tigers capped another outstanding H-DNL campaign with the three doubles championships.

And they did it by dropping just two games combined in the three finals.

At No. 1 doubles, the pairing of Meta Nave and Kloee Donnelly defeated St. Bernard’s Annie Tran and Claire Shin 6-0, 6-0 in the final.

Nave and Donnelly will now advance to the North Coast Section doubles tournament where they will represent the H-DNL.

In the No. 2 doubles finals, sisters Jasmine and Astreya McKnight got the better of Northcoast Prep’s Ayla Weiss and Simone Leach 6-0, 6-0.

Rounding out the day’s action, Arcata’s Ella Manthorne and Natalie Dreyer defeated Eureka’s Jayla Holbrook and Addie Miller 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 3 final.

Nave and Donnelly will now compete in the NCS tournament along with teammate Iris Besmer, who won the H-DNL No. 1 singles title the previous week.

The NCS postseason singles and doubles tournaments will be held on Nov. 13 and 14.

After sweeping every league match this season for the sixth consecutive year, the dominating Arcata Tigers also have advanced to the NCS team championships, which get under way next Tuesday.
