Eureka graduate Rogan Bode is enjoying a big summer playing for the Humboldt Eagles 19Us, and that continued to be the case on Wednesday night as the local American Legion club beat the touring Australia Black team 7-6.
Bode not only pitched two scoreless innings in relief for the win on the mound, but he also had the game-winning walk-off hit.
The talented middle infielder delivered in the clutch and drove in the game winner with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Bode finished 2-for-5 at the plate and also struck out two Australia batters.
Big 5 MVP Cody Collins also continued to impress in the win and was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs, while Cayden Lee was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Cole Ayala got the start on the mound, with Cayden Danbrauskas and Caden Vance both pitching in relief.
Will Mager added a double and an RBI.
The Eagles open their own tournament at Belotti Field on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m.
