The 2023 Humboldt Crabs are making a habit of playing extra inning games on Wednesday nights.

And they’re making a habit of winning them.

Just one week after a 15-inning win over the Humboldt Eagles at the Arcata Ball Park they did it again this week, scoring two runs in the top of the 11th inning on the way to a 7-5 win over the Rogues in Medford.

Griffin Myers hit a two-run home run to break the late deadlock and secure a two-game series sweep for the Crabs, who have now won seven straight and improved to 7-2 on the summer.

Myers finished 3-for-5, while teammate Michael McKernan also homered and was 3-for-5 as he continues his impressive start to the summer.

Wyatt Reginatto led the way offensively and was 4-for-6.

Merek Sears got the start on the mound and allowed just one earned run in six innings, while giving up 10 hits and one walk and striking out four.

Garrison Finck threw 2.2 innings in relief, allowing six hits and no walks and striking out two, with Clayton Ray throwing the final 2.1 innings for the win.

The impressive Ray allowed just one hit and no walks and struck out three.

The Crabs also won 15-3 on Tuesday night, scoring seven runs in the top of the ninth to pull away late.

Billy Ham led the way at the plate and was 4-for-5 with a double, while Myers and Reginatto each had three hits.

Cameron Saso added a double.

Gabe Turner pitched six innings for the win on the mound, allowing six hits and four walks and striking out two, with Brady Chavez throwing three innings of one-hit ball and striking out four to close out.

The Crabs return home to host the Athletic Edge Express in a three-game series this weekend, with game one set for Friday night at 7 p.m.
