Jeran Ford led the way at the plate on Tuesday night, as the Humboldt Eagles 19Us offense continued to impress.
The Eagles explode for 14 hits in a 14-3 win over the Fairfield Expos at Belotti Field, ending a nine-inning game in seven innings on the 10-run rule.
The hard-hitting Ford, who plays for College of the Redwoods, finished 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI and scored four runs.
And he wasn’t the only one to impress as eight Eagles players hit successfully.
Will Mager was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and scored three runs, while Willie Bommelyn was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs and Daniel Osborne was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Matt Letter, who was one of last week’s Humboldt Sports Athlete of the Week, also had multiple hits and finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
St. Bernard’s freshman Michael Manzi also impressed and was 1-for-1 with two RBIs, while Cody Collins was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Rogan Bode rounded out a 14-hit team performance with a double and an RBI and also scored twice, while Chase Coleman drove in three runs.
The Eagles utilized five pitchers, with Caden Vance getting the win in relief.
Vance threw two innings and allowed just one run, with Mager, Cooper Ohlsen, Collins and Letter each also seeing time on the mound.
With the win, the Eagle improved to 8-3-12 overall and 6-1 in league.
Next up, the Eagles will host the San Francisco Legion in a doubleheader at Belotti Field on Sunday, with game one set for 10 a.m.
