Former Eureka Logger Cruz Montana threw for a career high 317 yards for Lewis & Clark on Saturday in a 56-41 loss to Pacific.

The senior quarterback is enjoying an outstanding season for the Pioneers and appears to be getting better as the season progresses.

He completed 28 of 43 passes for the career-high yardage, including three touchdowns and no interceptions, while also running in for another TD.

It was the fourth time in seven games this season that Montana has thrown for three TDs, and the fourth straight game he ran in for one.

For the season, the 2019 Eureka graduate has completed 142 of 211 passes for 1,709 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions.

His previous career high in yards for a game was 270, which came against Whittier earlier this season.

Montana is also now 10th in program history in career passing yards (3,868) and just 132 yards away from becoming the eighth quarterback in program history to throw for at least 4,000 yards.

The Division-III Pioneers are now 4-3 on the season, including 2-3 in the Northwest Conference, and will play at George Fox this coming Saturday.
