An impressive season for the Arcata girls golf team continued with another big showing this week.

The H-DNL leaders traveled out of the area to play some of the best teams in the Northern Section on Monday and came away with a dominating team victory.

The Tigers left the field in their dust with a 35-stroke victory at the Helen Linfield Memorial High School Tournament in Red Bluff.

And they did it in 97-degree temperatures with a balanced team performance.

“I just think the depth of our team this year has really paid off,” head coach Troy Ghisetti said. “Avery (Meadows) was our low score but all the others were right behind her, and it’s been that way all year for us.”

The Arcata girls have dominated league play so far and have been placing five or six golfers in the top-10 in each round of league play.

Meadows paced the team on Monday with a round of 92, two strokes behind the tournament winning score of 90.

The consistent Sagen Sarchett had the second best Arcata score of the day with a round of 100, while Iris Coonrod, Amaya Urquidez and Morgan Ford each shot a 110.

Madyson Nelson rounded out a good day for the team with a round of 114.

The Tigers will look to keep their impressive season going when they return to league play on Thursday.

The fourth round of H-DNL action will take place at the Eureka Municipal Golf Course at noon.
