
Cal Poly Humboldt Athletics
The Cal Poly Humboldt volleyball and men’s soccer teams will both host games this week, while the women’s triathlon team gets set to begin a new era for Lumberjacks sports.
The volleyball team will play Cal State East Bay in both their home and CCAA opener on Thursday, before hosting Cal State San Marcos on Saturday.
Both matches are scheduled to start at 5 p.m. at Lumberjack Arena.
The men’s soccer team, meanwhile, will host Simpson on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m.
The Jacks are 0-1-3 on the season after going 0-1-1 in Hawaii over the weekend.
The Jacks will also host Academy of Art next Monday at noon.
The Humboldt men suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday, falling 2-1 at Hawai’i Hilo. Ramiro Rosas scored the Jacks’ lone goal.
The Humboldt women’s triathlon team will round out a busy week for the Jacks at the Best of the West Sprint Triathlon in Sweet Home, Oregon.
This will be the first of three upcoming triathlons for the Jacks, who will also compete at the Oktoberfest Sprint Triathlon in Longmont, Colorado, on Sept. 25, as well as the West Region National Qualifier in Stockton, Missouri, one Oct. 15.
The Humboldt women’s soccer team, meanwhile, will play a pair of road games this week, playing Biola on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. and Azusa Pacific on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Both games will be played at Chico.
The Jacks are 2-1-1.
