Redwood Acres announces new date for Fan Appreciation Night

After being forced to cancel this weekend’s Fan Appreciation Night, Redwood Acres Raceway officials have rescheduled the popular annual event.

It will now take place on Friday, Sept. 9.

Originally scheduled for this Saturday night, the Fan Appreciation Night was canceled by track officials because CAL FIRE continues to use Redwood Acres as a base for crews battling the Six Rivers Lightning Complex fires.

The switch will make for a busy second weekend in September for the local raceway, with events now planned for both Friday and Saturday nights.

Saturday’s event will feature the Redwood Acres debut of the Gunslinger Sprint Cars.

Also on that Saturday, the Upstate Bomber Series will compete for a $3,000 purse in the Rumble In The Woods 50.

The weekend action is being presented by Shafer’s Ace Hardware.

Fan Appreciation Night will feature free admission, with the Late Models, Legends, Bombers, Mini Stocks and Roadrunners all scheduled to race.

Friday’s bomber feature will pay $500 with an additional $1,000 bonus on the line if Friday’s winner also wins the Upstate Bomber main on Saturday.
