The Hoopa softball coaches are planning on honoring their history-making 2022 players and have set up a Gofundme page to help fundraise toward that goal.
The Warriors want to provide each player with a commemorative championship ring after they won an H-DNL record seventh all-time NCS championship in the sport this spring.
“The coaching staff of the Hoopa Valley High School softball team is immensely proud of their young women for the hard work and dedication they put in this season, which allowed them to have a record-setting season and become the all-time North Coast Section Champions in their area,” the coaches said in a press release.
“Our entire team is young Native American women, we are a very small community based on the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation, and our girls are a huge part of positivity in our community.
“The girls are culturally involved in ceremonies and constantly volunteer to help our youth, putting on softball camps for young girls and giving up weekends to run fundraisers that benefit other youth functions. It has been a pleasure teaching young women how to lead and work hard to accomplish success.”
The Gofundme page can be accessed here.
