The Humboldt Crabs offense exploded for 22 hits in a 22-1 win over the Seattle Studs at the Arcata Ball Park on Friday night.

The win followed a 7-4 victory on Thursday night in the series opener.

Javier Felix led the way in Friday’s offensive onslaught and finished 4-for-5 with three runs, while teammate Lane Oliphant added three hits.

Five different Crabs players doubled in the win, while McKinleyville’s Cameron Saso finished 2-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and a run.

Ethan Brodsky pitched six innings for the win and allowed four hits and one walk and struck out four.

Former St. Bernard’s Crusader Garrison Finck threw three strong scoreless innings in relief, allowing just one hit and no walks and striking out four.

Saso also impressed in Thursday’s win, pitching the final inning for his team-leading second save of the summer.

He allowed two hits and no walks and struck out two.

Another St. Bernard’s graduate, Caleb Ruiz, got the start on the mound and posted his team-leading second win of the season.

Ruiz allowed seven hits and one walk in six innings, as the Crabs battled back from an early four-run deficit and broke a 4-4 deadlock with a run in the bottom of the sixth.

Ruiz struck out five.

Cary Arbolida, Andrew Esperanza and Colby Lunsford each had two hits.

The Crabs are now 7-2.

The two teams will continue a four-game series with games on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

The Crabs will hit the road for five games next week.
