Cal Poly Humboldt teams split against Stanislaus State

The Cal Poly Humboldt women’s basketball team won a second straight game in the California Collegiate Athletic Association on Saturday night, defeating Stanislaus State 61-45 at Lumberjack Arena.

Madison Parry had 17 points and 13 rebounds in the win, as the Jacks improved to 5-6 in conference and 6-9 overall.

Citlaly Davalos also had 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Del Norte’s Jadence Clifton continued her recent good run with a season-best 10 assists.

Clifton, a freshman, also had 14 points, including going 5-of-6 at the free-throw line, as well as seven rebounds and two steals.

The Cal Poly Humboldt men did not fare so well, dropping their second straight game in conference play and falling to Stanislaus 64-40.

Jaden Edwards paced the Jacks with 10 points and nine rebounds, while teammate Austin Harris had 10 points.

Former Arcata High and College of the Redwoods player Thomas Nelson had two points, two rebounds and an assist in 17 minutes.

Next up, the Jacks play at Cal State Monterey Bay on Thursday and at San Francisco State on Saturday.
