By Ray Hamill — McKenna Beach was on fire on Saturday night, as the Eureka girls cruised to a comfortable 61-41 win at St. Bernard’s in girls basketball.

Beach finished with a game-high 29 points, including six 3-pointers, as the Loggers improved to 17-8 on the season.

Lele Tanuvasa and Madelyn Shanahan each also continued to shine for the Crusaders.

Tanuvasa finished with 22 points, while Shanahan had eight, as the Crusaders dropped to 14-7.

Both teams will be back in action early this week.

The St. Bernard’s girls have a pivotal Little 4 game at Ferndale on Monday night, while the Loggers will host McKinleyville in their final regular season game on Tuesday.

The Loggers, who clinched the Big 5 championship last week, will honor their four seniors — Beach, Ellie Pesch, Payton Goodman and Amaya Watson — before Tuesday’s game.
