By Ray Hamill — Local basketball fans won’t be able to attend any games for the next two weeks, but they can still follow much of the action online and on the radio.

The league announced on Wednesday that all upcoming H-DNL sporting events will be held without any spectators, beginning Friday and running through Jan. 23, because of COVID concerns.

However, many of the games will be streamed online as well as broadcast live on MIX 95.1 FM and KPOD 97.9 FM.

This week, MIX 95.1 released a comprehensive schedule of upcoming games featuring several teams, while KPOD will continue to broadcast all Del Norte boys and girls basketball games.

The Del Norte games will also be broadcast through the school’s Facebook page.

On Friday night, MIX 95.1 will broadcast the Eureka and Fortuna girls game from Eureka High.

Long-time local broadcaster Tag Wotherspoon will also call the action from three boys games next week, including Fortuna at Del Norte on Tuesday, St. Bernard’s at Ferndale on Thursday, and Fortuna at Ferndale on Friday.

John Pritchett will continue to call the action from all the Del Norte games on KPOD, alongside color analyst John “Mad Dog” Horner.
