By Ray Hamill — As we head into the final month of the year, it’s time to start thinking about which local athletes, coaches and teams impressed you the most this year.

Humboldt Sports is now accepting nominations for our end-of-year awards in four categories — male and female athletes of the year, coach of the year and team of the year — before opening voting to our readers later in the month.

If you would like to nominate an athlete, coach or team, we would love to hear from you.

Voting in all four categories will be open to our readers over the second half of the month, with the winners announced on New Year’s Eve, along with our annual Sports Person of the Year.

Nominations must be emailed to HumboldtSports1@gmail.com between now and Dec. 10.
