The Humboldt State men’s soccer team is closing in on a first-ever California Collegiate Athletic Association tournament berth in men’s soccer.
The Jacks close out the regular season this week when they play at Chico State on Thursday and they need a win or a tie to secure a playoff spot.
The HSU men are 4-4-2 in conference play and fifth in the standings, and they go into this week’s game in a midst of a three-way battle for the final two playoff berths.
The top six conference teams will qualify for next week’s tournament, with the top four already set and HSU battling Sonoma State and Chico State for the final spots.
HSU currently has 14 points with Sonoma State one point back in sixth and Chico State one point further back in seventh.
Thursday’s game kicks off at 11:30 a.m.
The tournament opens on Sunday.
