By Ray Hamill — The Humboldt State men’s rugby season opener will take place against Sonoma State at the Redwood Bowl on Saturday.

The Jacks were scheduled to open against the Seawolves two weeks ago, but the game was postponed because of Sonoma State’s COVID regulations.

Some other teams in the conference have not yet been cleared to play at their respective campuses, which has affected the schedule, although those schools are expected to be cleared to play in the coming weeks.

Saturday’s game will be the first for the Jacks since March 2020.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
