The Hoopa Warriors kept the pressure on St. Bernard’s in Little 4 volleyball on Tuesday night, getting the better of Ferndale in four sets.

The victory sets up another big showdown against the Crusaders in Hoopa on Thursday night.

The Warriors are now 4-1 in conference play, with their only loss coming at St. Bernard’s last week.

On Tuesday, they had to dig deep against the Wildcats, taking three straight sets after dropping the opener.

“We served well and passed well for last three sets,” said head coach Amber McCovey-Billings, whose team settled into the game after the shaky start.

Tatianna Colegrove, Savannah Colegrove and Taylor Cole all had a good night offensively with several kills each, while Deja Coleman impressed in the back row with her digging.

The consistent Jewely Bibancos also had a good all-around night, with some quality serves, passes and digging, while Nae-Rew Martin and Diamond shared setting duties and both showed a lot hustle, according to the coach.

Thursday’s big showdown is scheduled to get under way at 6:30 p.m.
