San Jose State scrimmage now closed to the public

Humboldt State Athletics – The Spartans at the Redwood Bowl this week.

Because of a recent surge of COVID 19 cases in Humboldt County, the scheduled San Jose State football scrimmage at the Redwood Bowl this weekend will not be open to the public.

The Spartans are in the area this week, using the Redwood Bowl and HSU facilities for their training camp ahead of the upcoming season.

They will hold an intrasquad scrimmage in the Redwood Bowl on Saturday evening, which was originally slated to be open to local fans to attend.

Instead, a live-stream presentation will be available to the public on Twitter at @SJSUAthletics, beginning at 6 p.m.

The Spartans, who are holding their training camp at HSU for the second straight year, will return to the Bay Area on Sunday.
