The Humboldt Eagles 19Us struck early and often on the way to a comfortable 10-1 win over the Tehama Bulls in American Legion baseball action in Fairfield on Thursday.
The in-form Hunter Davis continued to impress with three hits in the win, including a double, as the Eagles opened up a 7-0 advantage after two innings and never looked back.
Caden Vance pitched all seven innings, holding the Bulls scoreless until the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Eureka standout allowed eight hits and no walks, while striking out five.
Vance also finished with two hits, as did Parker Rodgers and Xander Sorensen, while Keenan Morris, Curtis Edge and Richard Reeves each had a double.
Connor Johnson rounded out a 13-hit team performance.
The Eagles continue play at the area tournament against Petaluma on Friday night at 7 p.m.
