The Southern Humboldt Patriots 17Us are coming together.
On Tuesday night, they got the better of the Humboldt Eagles 7-5 in American Legion baseball action.
Drew Franklin got the win on the mound and is now 3-0 on the summer, while helping his own cause at the plate with two base hits.
The consistent Franklin threw three innings, allowing just one hit and no walks, while striking out one.
The win was the fourth straight for an improving Patriots team that had five players with two hits.
“We hit the ball well,” head coach Justin Andersen said. “They’re coming around.”
Rylan Lommori, Cody Sauers, Cole Victorine and Broc Contreras each also had two hits in the win.
It took the Patriots a little while to get going after leaving the bases loaded in three of the first four innings.
The Patriots are now 7-2 on the season and will open play at the Northern Humboldt tournament on Friday.
