The Humboldt Eagles 19U bats remained hot at the Father’s Day Tournament in Chico on Saturday, but the team lost for the third time in three days, falling 13-10 to Yolo 77 in five innings.
Parker Rodgers, who will play at Butte College next year, led the way in an 11-hit performance, finishing 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
Teammate Jaden Gorge added two doubles, while Landon Gomes and Xander Sorensen each also had two hits.
It was a high-scoring back-and-forth game, with the Eagles scoring three times in the top of the first, before trailing 6-3 after two innings.
They re-took the lead with a four-run third inning, but gave up five runs in the bottom half of the inning and trailed the remainder of the way.
Hunter Davis got the start on the mound, with Connor Johnson and Curtis Edge both pitching in relief.
Davis and Johnson each also had a hit.
With the loss, the Eagles drop to 1-7.
