VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS — Familiar faces still dominating

By Ray Hamill — The new H-DNL track and field season got under way with the Panther Relays at McKinleyville High School on Saturday, the first of five league meets this spring.

And for a few distance runners, it was business as usual.

Both league cross country champions — Anneli Macdonald of Arcata and Collin Stockwell of Fortuna — won their respective 1600 meter races in comfortable fashion.

The Arcata girls had the top-three finishers in the race, with Anneli pacing the field, ahead of her twin sister Mathilde in second and younger sister Soquel in third.

Check out highlights of the races above, including the three sisters at the finish line, as well as some of the heats in the 100m, which as usual featured some pretty close finishes.
