Humboldt State to host Tom Wood Golf Classic

Humboldt State Athletics

Humboldt State will host the 39th Annual Swing for the Jacks Tom Wood Golf Classic next month.

The event will be held at Baywood Golf and Country Club in Arcata on May 22 with a shotgun/scramble start at 10 a.m.

Formerly known as the Hoopsters Golf Tournament, the annual event has been renamed in honor of legendary Hall of Famer Tom Wood, the longtime former men’s basketball coach.

Beginning with the first Hoopsters Golf Tournament in 1983, Wood helped create a competitive and entertaining annual get together on the golf course for Lumberjack supporters.

Entrance fee for the tournament is $150 for individuals or $600 for foursomes.
