Hailey Dolcini has been on fire in the pitcher’s circle recently, including throwing a perfect game against Sac State.
The Ferndale native who starred at Fortuna High has led the red-hot Fresno State Bulldogs to seven straight wins, pitching 25 innings in four of those games.
Last week, she was named Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the Week for the eighth time in her illustrious career after her dominating weekend against the Hornets.
According to the Fresno State athletics website, Dolcini’s perfect game was the 16th in program history and the first since 2015.
In two games against Sac State, Dolcini pitched a perfect game and a shutout. She had an ERA of 0.00 in 12 innings of work, allowing just four hits and one walk and finishing with 19 strikeouts.
The former Fortuna Husky followed that with two more wins this past weekend, against Cal State Fullerton and Loyola Marymount.
For the season, Dolcini is now 5-3 with a save, and has an ERA of 2.17.
She has allowed just seven earned in her last eight games combined (45.2 innings).
The 9-5 Bulldogs play a pair of games against both Cal and UC Davis this weekend.
