By Ray Hamill — Playing one of their toughest opponents of the summer, the Humboldt Eagles 19U American Legion team split a doubleheader against the West Coast Kings at St. Bernard’s on Saturday.
In game one, the Eagles broke the deadlock with five runs in the third and fourth innings and that was more than enough for a stellar pitching staff, with Nick Dugan getting the win with another outstanding performance.
Check out some of the fourth inning highlights here, including big hits by Branson Gans, Hayden Bode and Parker Rodgers, as well as a sac fly by Lane Thrap, as the Eagles scored three times to take control of the game.
The Eagles won the opener 7-2, but the Kings would rebound to take a tight game two by a score of 2-1.
