Camerin Goddard pitched a two-hit complete game on Saturday as the Humboldt Eagles 16U American Legion baseball team beat Siskiyous 11-2 in five innings at the Arcata Little League Fields.
Goddard allowed just one walk and struck out four, giving the Eagles some much-needed consistency on the mound, while also saving the rest of the staff on what is a busy weekend for the club.
He got plenty of offensive help as the Eagles comfortably took control of the game.
Myles Standish and Jack Saso each finished with a pair of hits and an RBI, while teammate Mason Cammack finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
Cody Saurs also had a productive day at the plate, finishing 1-for-3 with two RBIs, while Matt Letter was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Cooper Ohlson was 1-for-2.
The Northern Humboldt Knights also won on Saturday, getting the better of Sutter 15U by a score of 10-4.
The Knights scored nine times in the first inning to take control of the game and never looked back with a solid offensive performance that saw six different players get at least one hit.
Cedar Cline pitched all seven innings for the win, allowing six hits and striking out four, while helping his own cause at the plate with a double and two RBIs.
Chase Coleman also had a big day at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Brody Mattz added a double and an RBI, while Miles Oliver, Anthony Ebert and Elam Wright each had a base hit and an RBI. (See video highlight above for Wright’s hit.)
Ray Rusgrove and Noah Waterhouse each also drove in a run.
