Arcata football player Everett Halikas has sadly lost his battle with acute viral encephalitis, passing away on Monday evening.

The Tigers junior was rushed to UCSF last Wednesday after being diagnosed with the disease and was immediately put on life support.

On Monday evening, friends of the family updated the details on a gofundme page set up last week, announcing that Everett passed away peacefully at 5:30 p.m.
