The Humboldt State women opened the new softball season with a doubleheader split at Metropolitan State in Denver, dropping the opener 15-7 and responding with a 15-4 win in the nightcap.

Haley Suter was 4-for-4 with two home runs and seven RBIs in the five-inning win, and scored three times. 

Katelyn Dendas and Danica Grier each also homered in the opener.
