A screen shot captured from the video footage of Lane Thrap’s second touchdown catch against Stellar Prep on Friday.
By Ray Hamill — Lane Thrap was at it again on Friday, and so too was a pretty potent St. Bernard’s offense.
Thrap pulled in four touchdown receptions in a 41-14 homecoming victory over Stellar Prep at Crusader Field, including one spectacular catch in the end zone to give his team a 14-0 advantage late in the opening quarter.
That reception was set up after he intercepted a pass on defense and returned it 50 yards to the Stellar Prep 20-yard line.
His four TD receptions — three from Will Omey and one from Bode Joyner — give him 16 on the season.
“I don’t know what else I can say about Lane Thrap,” St. Bernard’s head coach Matt Tomlin said. “He’s the best receiver on the North Coast.”
He wasn’t the only offensive hero for the Crusaders.
Talimaivao Fonoti had an impressive 10-yard scoring run early in the second quarter for a 21-0 lead, while receiver Demarte Prudhomme added a four-yard TD reception from Omey for a 28-0 lead late in the first half.
