Redwoods women drop two at Ohlone

It was a disappointing day at the office for the College of the Redwoods softball team, which dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Ohlone on Saturday.

The Corsairs lost heavily in both, falling 10-0 in six innings in game one, and 22-0 in four innings in game two.

Both CR pitchers, Ashley Stockwell and Lindsey Scott, had trouble throwing in the rainy weather, as the Corsairs dropped to 4-6 on the season.

The CR women managed just a single hit in the opener, but the bats were slightly more productive in the second game, with Bronwyn Gilfillan finishing 2-for-3 to lead a five-hit performance.

Scott, Pheobe Marsh, Amy Reyes and Adriana Chavez each had a hit on the day.

Ohlone improved to 9-9.

The Corsairs will try to bounce back in a game at San Mateo on Sunday.

The CR men will host Feather River in a doubleheader on Sunday at Bomber Field in Eureka, with game one set for noon.
