Athletes of the Week – Big week for Eureka volleyball, Citro and Vera

It’s a double swoop for McKinleyville High in this week’s Humboldt Sports Athletes of the Week, while Eureka girls volleyball gets the nod for Team of the Week.

The boys athlete of the week honor goes to cross country runner Adam Vera, while the girls honor goes to golfer Molly Citro.

Molly Citro

McKinleyville Golf, Senior

Citro has been leading the Humboldt-Del Norte League all season along with teammate Phoebe Sundberg, with the duo dominating just about every event.

Last week, Citro solidified her lead atop the season standings with her third win in five events, shooting a round of 82 at Beau Pre to pull six strokes ahead in the league standings with just two rounds renaining.
