The 2026 Redwood Acres Raceway season came to an exciting end on Saturday, with a packed night of racing action.
A busy night included the Mid-City Motor World Late Models, the NorCal Legend Series, the Upstate Modified Series, bombers, mini stocks, the Dirt 4 Bangers and the Pacific Towing Pull & Park trailer race.
And it was good night for Brandon Barnwell, who not only secured the late models season championship but also set a new a new standard in qualifying with a track record of 15.480, breaking Luke Hall’s previous record time by half-a-tenth of a second.
The late models main event featured two 50-lap races, the first of which was won by Landen Green, who earned $1000 for the victory, and he was followed across the finish line in order by Dennis DelBiaggio, Myles Anderson, Allen Gibney and Nathaniel Foley.
Barnwell was leading the way on lap 41, but his car lost power and he was forced to the pits.
However, he would return for the second 50-lap event and took the checkered flag.
Following a caution on lap 29, brought out by a spin by Chad Grammer, Barnwell took the lead and looked to be in the same top form that he displayed throughout the majority of the season.
The final 20 laps of the race were clean and Barnwell was able to earn the $2,000 victory over DelBiaggio, Anderson, Green and Gibney.
In NorCal Legend Series action, Cole Dasenbrock of Washington broke Jeremy Doss’ track record in qualifying with a 17.323.
Brandon White won the first heat race while J.K. Kinney won the second heat.
The main event was won by Trey Daniels, followed in turn by White, Cody Winchel, Dasenbrock and Kai Lovell.
Oregon driver Mark Pothoff set the pace in the Upstate Modified Series qualifying, before the 40-lap feature.
He would cap a good all-around high by taking the checkered flag in the feature race, holding on for the victory over Donnie Brown.
Luke Hall was third, followed by David Furia in fourth and Christian Sanchez in fifth.
In bombers action, Stephen Ghilarducci set fast time with an 18.210 qualifying time, while Jimmy Sorrels won the heat race.
Ghilarducci dominated the 20-lap feature to earn his second win of the season, followed in turn by T.J. Sorrels, Jeff French, Jimmy Sorrels and Jeramee Foley.
Tanner Hrynkiewicz was the main event winner for the mini stocks while Kobe Taylor earned the win in the Dirt 4 Bangers, honoring his father on his memorial night race.
Jimmy Sorrels was the winner of the Pacific Towing Pull & Park Trailer Race.
