By Ray Hamill — The Beat 95.1 FM will broadcast 14 regular-season high school football games here on the North Coast this fall, beginning on opening weekend.

Tag Wotherspoon will be on hand to call the action from the games, which will also include the North Coast Section playoffs.

On opening weekend, Wotherspoon will be at Fortuna High School for the Huskies’ first game against St. Helena.

The following weekend, 95.1 FM will broadcast a pair of games, the first of six doubleheaders for the season.

The schedule includes eight Fortuna games and seven St. Bernard’s games, including an important Big 4 matchup between the two defending conference co-champs at Fortuna on Oct. 8.

Wotherspoon will also call the action from the St. Bernard’s/Eureka game on the final weekend of the regular season at the newly renovated Albee Stadium, which includes a new all-weather field.

All eight of the 11-player H-DNL teams will be featured at least once each in the weekly broadcasts.

And all of the games broadcast will also be available online.

The NCS playoffs are scheduled to get under way on the weekend of Nov. 13/14, with the section semifinals the following weekend and the championship games set for the final weekend of that month.
