By Ray Hamill — Get ready for one of the busiest weekends of the summer in local baseball.

The annual Humboldt Eagles tournament gets under way on Thursday and will run for four days, with 30 games scheduled in two brackets.

The games will be played at the Redwood Fields in Cutten and at Belotti Field across from the Redwood Acres.

Both Humboldt Eagles teams are included in the field, along with the Northern Humboldt Giants and Southern Humboldt Eagles.

The Eagles 19Us will open tournament play against the Suns at 4:30 p.m., before playing Legacy at 7 p.m.

Both of those games will take place at Belotti Field.

Opening day also sees the Giants play the Colts C at 11:30 a.m. in Cutten, while the Eagles 17Us will play the Colts D at 2 p.m., also in Cutten.

The 76ers open tournament play against the Renegades at 4:30 at the Redwood Fields.

The tournament playoff games will be played on Sunday, with both championship games set for Sunday afternoon.

Local baseball legend Buster Pidgeon will throw out the first pitch before Thursday night’s Eagles game at Belotti Field.

Entry fees are $10 for adults and $5 for children (5-12) and seniors.

Weekend passes are also available for $30 and $15.
