The Pacific Empire League standings are taking on a familiar look.

On Thursday night, the Humboldt Crabs won the fourth game of a five-game series against the Marysville Giants to surge into the top three in the league standings.

The Crabs won 12-3 to improve to 5-2 in league play, and they trail only the Healdsburg Prune Packers (4-1) and Lincoln Potters (6-2) in the standings as the three frontrunners once again begin to establish themselves as the teams to beat this summer.

The ever-consistent Adam Enyart led the way in Thursday night’s win, which followed a doubleheader sweep on Wednesday.

Enyart finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored and he has now hit successfully in 17 of his last 18 games.

The Crabs right fielder hit a home run for the second straight night and now has five on the summer, which is tied for the team lead with Jamie Mullin.

Remarkably, Mullin homered for the fourth straight game in a 4-0 win over the Giants in the opening game of Wednesday’s doubleheader.

Former Arcata High and College of the Redwoods pitcher Miles Oliver got the start on the mound on Thursday and threw four good innings.

Oliver gave up two earned runs on five hits and two walks and struck out four.

It was a back-and-forth game for much of the night, before the Crabs pulled away late with seven unanswered runs in the seventh and eight innings in what had been a 5-3 game at that stage.

Jason Arriola and Manoa Chapman each also had multiple hits in the win, as the Crabs out-hit the visitors 11-9.

Arriola finished 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs, a walk and two runs, while Chapman was 2-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs.

Anane Wilson also had a home run for the home team, his first of the summer in just his second appearance.

Thursday’s win was the fifth straight for the Crabs, who improved to 19-3 on the summer.

The two clubs will close out their five-game series on Friday night, before the Lincoln Potters travel to Arcata for a key PEL two-game stand on Saturday and Sunday.
