Jim Walker Fair Classic highlights big weekend at Redwood Acres

North Coast race fans will be treated to two days of motor sports action at the Redwood Acres Raceway this weekend, including the highly-anticipated Jim Walker Fair Classic for the Late Models.

The action gets under way on Saturday with the Mid-City Motor World Late Models, as well as the Upstate Bomber Series, Legends, Jr. Legends and mini stocks.

Saturday’s races will be presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts.

In addition, the raceway will honor the 2026 Hall of Fame class.

The class includes 1969 RAR super stock track champion Bob Britt; four-time NASCAR Winston West Series champion Bill Schmitt; 1982 Rose Classic winner and 1987 RAR super stock track champion Mark Baldwin; five-time RAR super stock track champion crew chief and winner of multiple big-time races in the west Rick Harper; and 1983 and 1984 RAR Limited Modified/open wheel track champion Tim Marsh, Jr.

Sunday’s racing includes a fast lap shootout presented by the Redwood Sports Car Club, as well as the Dirt 4 Bangers and the Down & Dirty Hillbilly Boat races.

The incentive to win Saturday’s Jim Walker Fair Classic will be high with several sponsors lining up to boost the main event purse for the event including Chalk Mountain Ranch and North Coast Lighting And Electric.

The main event will be split into two 48-lap segments with the winner of each earning $2,000.

Former RAR driver Kavin Conn has sponsored a bonus for the driver who earns the Hard Charger award, while Bob Oliver and Competition Carburation have also put up a $150 award for the fastest lap in the feature.

Additionally, Hard Logging And Construction provided the purse for the eight-lap trophy dash with the winner receiving $500.

Saturday’s race will be the first of the four-race season for the Upstate Bomber Series.

As in the Late Models, Bob Oliver and Competition Carburation will give $150 to the driver who clocks the fastest lap in the 40-lap feature.

Tickets for both Saturday and Sunday’s events are $10, while children ages five and under get in free.

On Sunday fathers get in free.
