Humboldt Crabs Baseball

Cody Collins posted his team-high third win of the summer over the weekend, as the Humboldt Crabs continued to soar with another three-game sweep.

The unbeaten Crabs improved to 12-0 with the three wins over the Rocklin Stonecutters, but bigger challenges await the team this week as they get set to open league play on the road.

Thus far, however, the 2026 Crabs have been taking care of business.

They opened their weekend series with a 10-2 win on Friday night, before winning 13-5 on Saturday and then closing out the series with a 7-3 win on Sunday.

The high-scoring Crabs have scored at least six runs in all 12 games so far, including double digits in nine of them.

Collins got the win on Saturday.

The former Fortuna Husky threw 4.2 innings and gave up just one earned run on six hits and two walks while striking out one.

He got plenty of run support, as the Crabs scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning to firmly take control of the game and they finished with 16 base hits, including home runs by Jamie Mullins and Kawana Saores.

Soares also had two doubles and finished the game 4-for-4 with a walk, three RBIs and a run.

Mullin, Ryan VandenBrink, Eli Burnham and Joe Fagan each also had two hits in the win, including a double by VandenBrink.

Colton Boardman and Daniel Osborne each also had a double in the win.

Former McKinleyville Panther Jackson Kelly also threw two innings in relief, allowing two hits and three walks and striking out two.

Sunday’s game was more competitive, with the Crabs breaking a tie with three runs in the bottom of the fifth.

They would add three more runs in the sixth.

Nikko Taylor had the hot bat for the game.

The Crabs’ leadoff hitter finished 3-for-5 with three doubles, three RBIs and two runs.

Adam Enyart also gad a double and an RBI in the win.

Jack Novak pitched five strong innings for the win, allowing five hits and two walks and striking out seven.

The Crabs will hit the road for three key games this week to open the Pacific Empire League.

They open a three-game series against the Lincoln Potters on Tuesday night at 6:35 p.m.
