The Humboldt Crabs continued to set a blistering pace on offense on Friday night, as they stretched their unbeaten start to the season to 10 straight games.

The local collegiate summer club welcomed the Rocklin Stonecutters to the Arcata Ball Park for the opening game of a three-game series and won comfortably 10-2.

They out-hit the visitors 15-3 with eight different players hitting successfully.

The Crabs have now scored double digits in runs in eight of their 10 games and are averaging 12.6 runs a game through the first two weeks of the season.

Aidan Dorsch got the start on the mound for the third straight Friday night and threw two solid innings for a no-decision.

Dorsch gave up two earned runs on one hit and one walk and struck out three.

Cooper Ohlsen, a Eureka High graduate, also saw time on the mound, throwing three good innings in relief.

The former Logger, who plays at Butte College, gave up two hits and no walks and struck out one.

The visitors started well and took an early two-run lead before the Crabs went to bat.

But the high-scoring home team would respond with two runs in the bottom of the second to tie things up, before taking a lead they would not relinquish with two more runs in the third.

The middle of the lineup led the way at the plate, with the Nos. 3, 4 and 5 batters all finishing with three hits.

Catcher Ryan Vandenbrink finished 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs, while right fielder/pitcher Adam Enyart was 3-for-5 with an RBI and three runs, and designated hitter/right Fiedler Jamie Mullin was 3-for-5 with three RBIs.

Vandenbrink, Enyart and Mullin each had a double.

Eli Burnham also had multiple hits in the win and finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run.

Fortuna’s Daniel Osborne added a base hit and finished 1-for-5 with an RBI.

Osborne is enjoying an impressive debut season with the Crabs and now has a base hit in five straight games.

The two clubs will continue their weekend series on Saturday afternoon, with first pitch set for 2:30.
