Cal Poly Humboldt Athletics
Cal Poly Humboldt’s Joseph Gonzalez closed out the regular season in track and field in emphatic fashion at the APU Franson Last Chance Meet last weekend.
The former Eureka Logger who competes for Cal Poly Humboldt surpassed his own Jacks record in the men’s shot put, while hitting an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark. Gonzalez placed second overall with a throw of 17.23 meters (56′ 6.5″).
The junior improved upon his previous program best and secured an NCAA Division II provisional mark with his top throw, which came on his final attempt after consistently strong marks throughout the series.
