The Fortuna and Del Norte girls faced off in an H-DNL dual meet in Crescent City on Wednesday night.

And it was a good night for the Huskies, who prevailed 30-24.

Four Fortuna girls won their individual matches by pin, including Tiffany Krause, Ashten Moore, Bella Mora and Myla Kirk.

Heidy Rocha also won by forfeit for the visitors.

For Del Norte, Allie Bartley, Golden Rule, and Karlye Dodson each won their matches by pin, while Aileen Carlson won her match with a decision.

Both teams will join the rest of the H-DNL at next weekend’s league championships, which will be hosted by McKinleyville and take place at Cal Poly Humboldt’s Lumberjack Arena.

The schools’ boys teams also faced in a dual meet on Wednesday, with the host Warriors securing a dominating 59-16 win.

The next few weeks will be busy for the local high school wrestling teams.

In addition to the league championships, the league teams will also be competing in North Coast Section dual meet championships, NCS Divisional and Masters championships, and hopefully some of the league wrestlers will advance to the state championships.
