The CR women traveled to Quincy to play Feather River in Golden Valley Conference action and came away with a 69-61 win, while the Cal Poly Humboldt women hosted Cal Poly Pomona at Lumberjack Arena and bounced back from a disappointing weekend last week with a 57-56 win.
With the win, CR improved to 3-1 in the GVC (11-9 overall) and kept the pressure on conference leaders Butte, which improved to 3-0 in conference and stretched its winning streak to five straight with an 83-59 win over Siskiyous.

With Nora Talty leading the way once again, Redwoods opened up a 20-point halftime lead, but the home team would outscore the visitors in each of the third and fourth quarters.
“Feather came out with a lot of energy (in the second half) and we had a hard time matching it,” said Northern, whose team struggled early in the third quarter.
“We were able to hold them off and get the win, but it sure was a fight.”
Talty finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists, while teammate Itzel Torres also continued to impress and added a double-double, finishing with 12 points, 10 rebounds and two assists.
