
Cal Poly Humboldt Athletics – The Cal Poly Humboldt women in action against Western Oregon on Saturday.
By Ray Hamill — All four local college teams will be in action this week, as they each continue a hectic pre-Christmas schedule, although all four will be on the road.
Fresh off a weekend split in non-conference action, the Cal Poly Humboldt women’s team will travel for a pair California Collegiate Athletic Association games at Cal State San Marcos and Cal State Monterey Bay, along with the CPH men’s team.
The Humboldt women are now 4-4 overall and 2-0 in the CCAA.
Over the weekend, they welcomed Western Oregon and Saint Martin’s to Lumberjack Arena, opening with a 74-71 loss to the Wolves on Saturday, and following that with a 61-44 win over the Saints on Monday.
The Humboldt men, who were not in action over the weekend, are 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the CCAA.
Friday’s games at San Marcos are set for 5:30 p.m. (women) and 7:30 p.m. (men), while Sunday;’s games at Monterey are scheduled for 1 p.m. (women) and 3 p.m. (men).
The College of the Redwoods teams will also hit the rod this week.
The CR men, who won two of three games at the Modesto tournament over the weekend, will travel to Santa Rosa for the annual Kris Kringle tournament.
Redwoods opens against Cuesta on Friday hight at 6 p.m.
CR is now 9-6 on the season, including an 86-63 win over Alameda in the team’s final tournament game on Saturday.
The CR women, who are 6-6, will play a non-tournament game at Cosumnes River on Friday night at 5 p.m.
