
McKinleyville’s Ingrid Monaghan became the fifth different golfer to claim a victory in six rounds of league action on Thursday.
The H-DNL girls traveled to Del Norte and it was Monaghan who posted the low score of the day with a round of 95.
Del Norte’s Bria Larson had the next best round with a 98 as she solidified her lead in the season standings with just one round of league play remaining on the schedule.
Larson, who won the previous two rounds, now holds a 10-stroke lead in the race for the H-DNL title, which she can clinch in the final round of league play next week.
The Del Norte girls also took the team win on Thursday and are now all but guaranteed a first-ever league title.
Larson’s Del Norte teammate Jaylee Keeling and Eureka’s Hailey Forster tied for the third-best score of the day with identical rounds of 100 as they each continued their impressive seasons, while Del Norte’s Taylor Horner rounded out the top five on the day with a 101, giving the Warriors three of the top-five scores.
As a team, Del Norte shot a combined 419, followed by Arcata with a 450.
Eureka (465), McKinleyville (470) and Fortuna (522) rounded out the top five teams.
The Del Norte girls now hold a huge 175-stroke lead in the season team standings.
Arcata’s Mira Rust-Kelley had the sixth-best round of the day with a 107, followed by McKinleyville’s Jaxin Barton (111) and Eureka’s Daphne Log (111), Arcata’s Julie Omaha (112) and Arcata’s Sabrina Macdonald (115).
Keeling is second in the season standings (510) as the Warriors look to secure the top two spots in league, with Forster (515) in third.
Monaghan is now fourth (545), with Zwald (557) in fifth and Horner (563) in sixth.
Arcata teammates, Macdonald (595), Rust-Kelley (596) and Omaha (598) are all in a tight race for the seventh and final all-league spot.
Macee Marquez posted the low score for Fortuna with a round of 120.
The final round of league play will take place at Baywood Golf & Country Club on Monday.
