Tickets still available for Lumberjacks Hall of Fame ceremony

This will be a big weekend for Cal Poly Humboldt athletics, as the Jacks get set to induct a new class to the university athletics hall of fame.

This year’s list of inductees includes legendary men’s basketball player Fred Hooks, along with six other inductees, all of whom left a lasting legacy.

A ceremony honoring the new class will be hosted by the Jacks on Friday night and a limited number of tickets are still available.

The ceremony, which gets under away at 5 p.m, will be held at at Baywood Golf & Country Club.

Tickets are $75 for adults and $40 for children and can be purchased here.

The celebration includes a dinner and formal induction ceremony.

The 2025 hall of fame class includes Hooks (2000-04), who is one of only two Lumberjacks to surpass 2,000 career points.

He was also a three-time All-American who helped lead the 2003-04 team to the NCAA Final Four.

The other inductees include …

Monte Cook (Staff, 1988-2006) – Revered for his nearly two decades of service in the equipment room, supporting over 2,000 student-athletes with dedication and care.

Alyssabeth DeJerez (Track & Field, 2014-17) – A two-time NCAA All-American and CCAA Track Athlete of the Year, holding multiple school records.

Jamie Larrabee (Rowing, 2009-14) – NCAA All-American and leader of the 2014 national championship-winning varsity eight boat.

Lisa McDonnell (Rowing, 2002-05) – A member of the first Humboldt boat to qualify for nationals, helping establish the program as a national contender.

Blake Moorman (Football, 2005-06) – Record-setting quarterback who ranks third in career passing yards.

Katie Obbema (Softball, 2013-16) – CCAA Female Athlete of the Year and All-American pitcher, who helped lead Humboldt to two NCAA West Regional titles.
