The Nor Cal Football Officials Association announced this week that they will honor a former official this fall.
Earlier this year, Craig Lemster passed away from colon cancer and the longtime local official will be remembered by his fellow officials all season long.
To honor his memory and his contribution to football in our area, the local football officials will wear a memorial patch throughout the regular season.
The new football season kicks off this weekend.
Lemster served as a local official for almost 20 years until his retirement in 2016 and also worked one season at the Division-I collegiate level.
According to a press release announcing the decision, “Craig’s contributions to our members and to the youth of Humboldt County will be remembered fondly by our association.”

Thank you for remembering my brother this way. He would totally be honored ♥️. Carrie
