Members of SAAC send timely reminder to H-DNL parents, fans

By Ray Hamill — Members of the HDN Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC) have sent a timely reminder to the H-DNL community ahead of the upcoming high school sports year.

The council, which is made up of two student-athletes from each of the league’s schools, wants to remind local athletes, parents and fans what it means to compete in the H-DNL and how important good sportsmanship and respect are during competition.

The new high school and college sports year is already under way, with the 2025 football season kicking off this weekend.

And in order to promote good sportsmanship and remind everyone what the H-DNL is really all about, the members of SAAC have put together a short video, which you can view above.

In the video, the members of SAAC break down many aspects of league competition, including what it means “to be a part of a team and the HDN community.”

They also stress the importance of good sportsmanship, while reminding parents and fans that “without referees there are no games.”

The council, which was founded in the 2018/19 school year, meets several times a year to discuss relevant topics that impact the lives of H-DNL student athletes.
