College of the Redwoods Athletics

College of the Redwoods athletics will host its 21st annual fundraising dinner and auction on Thursday, Aug. 14.

The event, which serves as the largest fundraiser for CR’s intercollegiate athletics program, will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. at the CR Gymnasium on the Eureka campus.

Tickets are now available.

This year’s event will spotlight the launch of CR’s first-ever men’s and women’s rodeo teams, led by coaches Kelly and Gianna O’Day, as well as honoring Hannah Hartwell, a former CR cross country and track and field state champion who has since become a national medalist at NCAA Division II Fort Lewis College.

The evening will also include tributes to CR basketball/baseball/football alumnus Bob Robertson and former CR golfer Ryan Hosek, who is a CR community advocate.

Attendees can participate in both silent and live auctions featuring over 160 packages, including an eight-day trip to a five-diamond Mexican resort.

Other items up for bid include tickets to sporting/comedy/music events, diamond earrings, landscaping packages, premium gift baskets and unique autographed memorabilia.

“Not only does our community eagerly anticipate the annual CR Dinner and Auction, but so do our staff and student-athletes,” interim athletic director Ryan Bisio said. “It’s a night to thank our donors, sponsors, and the more than 475 attendees who show their dedication by supporting our sports year round.”

Bisio also praised the contributions of local business that support CR athletics and the event.

“The involvement of local businesses and their auction donations truly highlights the importance of Redwoods athletics in our region,” he added.

The CR athletic department supports 260 student-athletes across 16 different sports.

“We are profoundly grateful for the unwavering support from our community, alumni, and donors,” President and Superintendent of CR Keith Flamer said. “Their endorsement of CR athletics underscores our collective commitment to both academic and athletic excellence. Every contribution has a lasting impact on our student-athletes and our college.”
